ABOUT: karsh.org -
This portrait of Winston Churchill was taken immediately after the better known image, which Karsh called The Roaring Lion. The portrait of Churchill smiling was the one that Karsh himself preferred, but it is one that is seldom seen and is especially rare in a print of this size.
PROVENANCE: This photograph was purchased from the Karsh Studio, Ottawa, in 1990. It has been housed in an archival frame since the time of purchase and appears flawless, with strong tonality. -
