Printed circa 1962 -
Lutz Dille fled Germany after WWII and after travelling through Europe, settled in Canada in the 1950’s. Working as a cinematographer, he practiced photography on his own time, trying to capture moments of intrigue and delight that he found while roaming the streets. His method of photographing without raising the camera to his eye allowed for clandestine views on the human condition, views that are often filled with humour and influenced many Canadian photographers who followed.
