Sara Angelucci is an award winning, internationally exhibited, multi-disciplinary artist. Her practice often references historical representations via photographs; bodies of work that are supported by sculptural elements, performance, and the use of new media. Both Aviary and Arboretum delve into social and environmental concerns, exploring humanity’s conflicted relationship with the natural world.
In Angelucci's latest project, Nocturnal Botanical Ontario, the artist images plants that grow in the Pretty River Valley in southern Ontario, surrounded by the Niagara escarpment and a provincial park. These compositions uncover the ecological impacts of settler colonialism and global trade.
